Who doesn’t love fresh tomatoes, especially if they are really fresh, like just off the vine fresh?! Spring and summer are filled with tomato dishes and yummy salads. Then as summer lingers into fall and even more tomatoes make their way into the house you begin to wonder what you are going to do with them all.
Several years back I had a year where sadly large amounts went bad before we could eat or give them away. That following season I promised to never let that happen again. I discovered there were a lot of ways to preserve them, some easy and some not. I tried lots of them and then refined the ones I liked into easier options while preserving health and safety standards.
After using these methods for years with great success I put together How to preserve tomatoes. In this workshop I show you how to quickly and safely preserve your tomatoes. The workshop is broken down into four short videos so you can pick and choose which method you want to try first.
I’ve included videos showing you how to peel tomatoes, freeze tomatoes, how to make sun-dried tomatoes/dehydrate them and my favorite Rotel recipe that can be canned.
Don’t have a garden? That’s okay, these methods can be used on store bought tomatoes too! Imagine getting a great deal on tomatoes at the store and being able to stock up on as many as you want without fear of any going to waste!
