I had planned to post some recent projects today but I have several orders I am trying to fill and we have church tonight so it will have to wait until Friday or Saturday. Meanwhile here are a few of my favorite links. I often turn to these sites when I need to look up a technique I do not use often or for faster and better ways of doing the routine things. Remember you are never too old to learn!

Day With My Honey

My mom called yesterday and asked if she could borrow her grandkids for the day today. The kids enjoy being with her and it really brightens her day so off they went at 9:00 am.

Scott and I enjoyed our day picking up some things at Home Depot we needed and then doing some yard work. After the yard work I made baked potatoes in the microwave and then we wrapped them in foil and put them on the grill with some skewered shrimp, they were fabulous! While we ate we watched a movie and chit chatted. The entire day was slow and relaxed even while we worked in the yard and garden.

Thanks mom for watching the kids! They had fun and Scott and I enjoyed our time alone.

Feeding the 5,000

OK, I am not really feeding 5,000, I am feeding 12 and I am so excited about it! I teach 1-3 graders at our church on Wednesday night and tonight we are doing the story of the loaves and fishes and then celebrating with pizza!

What are we celebrating you ask? My little guys received devotion books at the start of last month with the challenge to do it everyday! I am very proud of them, they all did their devotions everyday for four weeks. It included a Bible passage, story and then a few questions to answer. I knew most of them would need help and I told them that was OK but I wanted them to work hard on it and not let their helpers do it for them. Each one was reminded that God wants to hear from them and that God wants to be their friend now, not just when the are older.

The incentive was if everyone did it I would bring pizza, no I do not see it as a bribe, I see it as positive reinforcement. However each week I reminded them what a great treasure their time with God daily was and that is much better than pizza!

Anyways I better get going, I have to stop by the Little Caesar's and pick it up on my way to church.
