Apron and Bonnet Giveaway
I can still remember when Sydney would play dress up. She always looked so cute and it kept her content for hours. Creative play like that is so much better for children in my opinion than computer games or tv. Instead of being told what to think by an outside source the child is able to roll play using what they have been taught by their family and witnessed being roll modeled to them.
I am so glad my daughter read good books and enjoyed playing pioneer girls with her friends instead of rock star or who know what else tv and the world would have had her embrace.
So in the spirit of cultivating more fun and imaginative play for the little girl in your life I am having an apron and bonnet giveaway. The apron and bonnet will look like the one in the picture however the dress is not included. I will work out the colors with the winner. If you are interested in the set in the picture I have shown it is a set I sell on e-bay and Etsy.
To enter all you have to do is leave a comment with your favorite way to entertain children that does not involve electronics. I will choose two winners on Friday using a random number generator. Be sure to leave me some way to contact you.

My daughter is little so its easy to entertain her. We throw a ball around outside, blow giant bubbles, look over her photo flash cards and make music with pots and pans.
Go outside and play
You'd be surprised how much fun you get out of a TV box

My daughters love to play dress up, go swimming, and play "duck, duck, goose." Thanks for the giveaway.
My daughter's favorite activity is sink time. We fill the sink with water and give her baby doll a bath or play with funnels, cups, shovels, whatever we have nearby. She loves water time!

Well, there is the obvious read to them or read together. We love to play games as well. Oh, and a huge hit: to be able to paint our old picnic table with watercolors.
We love to cook together. Even my two-year-old can stir and pour ingredients into a bowl!
We love to play floor games. We use masking tape to draw out shapes and letters on the floor. We love making up our own games! Bubbles are alway a hit as well!!
How cute! Our favorite activity is the old fashioned coloring books and puzzles. We all do it!
Thanks so much for the chance I also have a giveaway going on so come over and check it out!
My daughter and I love to do crafts together! She is really into painting...but will do just about any project put before her.

DIRT! Take them out and encourage them to play in the dirt, sand, or garden. An old cup and a little shovel and they are busy for hours...

We cook together and mostly the children play outside. We have some acreage and they pretty much have free reign of it. I also read aloud to them.
I love getting in the ktichen and cooking with the kids or taking a nice nature walk if the weather is right.

the best way we entertain ourselves is either by taking turns making up our own stories, or reading aloud. I have three girls so we are always busy coloring or pretending. Dress up is always a family favorite too!
Thanks

I'm sorry I guess listening to music and dancing would include electronics (LOL). One of our favorite things is to play the game Guess Who.

Love the site and giveaway.
Two things I do to occupy my 3 boys is to have them play outside, and do some sort of craft inside using what we have lying around at home.
Plastic counting bears (different colors & 3 different sizes)...they can sort by color or sizes...do all kinds of things with the bears & different empty containers (some lids). When the liquid laundry soap (we have big ALL from Sam's) is gone, I like to wash & keep the dispener cups. Those make nice extra cups for them to play with the bears. Also they use an empty Miracle Whip & lid. We store all that in an empty ice cream bucket.
They also like to play with a bucket of tangrams...make their own designs. The other day my 4 yr old daughter, made "sandwiches". The boys have even figured out how to do their own battle field.
My kids are teenagers and I don't have to do anything but take their tv away and boy they can invent something to occupy their time, they take a cup of water witha little dish soap and a straw and go to the kitchen table and see who can blow the biggest bubbles on the placemats! yeah kids

Well, I don't have a daughter, but I do have a sister of 8. We hardly ever use electronics, and never for entertainment! lol We use the computer for learning and my s8yo likes to type up psalms.
For play... she enjoys dressing up like a cowgirl or prairie girl and going outside with her brothers and running around the yard with naught but a stick and a rope from the bales of hay.
We also enjoy going on walks in the fields when we can.
I can't wait to see who wins! I know she'd love something like this!
Using natural toys such as dirt, water, or sand is my favorite way to entertain little ones. They are happy to have a tray (at any age) out in the sun filled with any of these objects. They will dig, weed gardens, and plant flowers. They will play with bubble makers, splash, and drive boats for hours. They will make castles, sand angels, or hide treasures for one another to find in a large tub of sand.

Hello!
I love just hanging out with children -- making them laugh by making funny faces, telling them stories, tickling them, etc.
I also love reading them books -- and playing outdoors with them (tag, hide and go seek, etc.)
Thanks for offering this!

We have been studying Little House on the Prairie using the Prairie Primer, so right now all of our play involves pioneer times. We have made corn cob dolls, made homemade butter, and more.

I think someone already mentioned it, but it needs repeating-Play dough. That stuff is great. Also, we love to build tents with our sheets and blankets. And we love to put the sprinklers on and run through it-it waters our lawn and its great fun. Thanks for such a wonderful giveaway. I just stumbled across your site for the first time tonight and I am glad I did!
